Abstract

|
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical application of oriental medical therapy to a patient with memory disturbance and disorientation caused by head trauma.
Methods: This study was carried out on a patient who had a memory disturbance caused by head trauma, and whose condition was improved through herbal medication and acupuncture therapy. We estimated the effect of memory disturbance through MMSE-K(Korean Vision of Mini-Mental State Examination) and K-DRS(Korean-Dementia Rating Scale).
Results and conclusions: Following the treatment the patient’s mental state was improved. The present results suggest that oriental medical therapy has the positive effects on a patient with memory disturbance.
